Saturday Selah: Building, Surrendering, and Stepping Forward

As we pause at the close of this week—and close April—we’re invited not to rush ahead, but to reflect.

Because what God has been doing hasn’t been random.

It’s been intentional.
Layered.
And deeply forming.

This Week: What We’ve Built With God

This week reminded us that how we build our lives matters.

Through Proverbs 21:5 NIV, we were grounded in the value of thoughtful, steady planning—learning that faith is not rushed, but cultivated with intention.

Luke 14:28 NIV called us to count the cost, not as a warning to turn back, but as an invitation to build with awareness and purpose.

In 1 Timothy 6:6–8 NIV, we were anchored in contentment—reminded that when our hearts are rooted in God, we are no longer chasing more, but learning to recognize enough.

Then Matthew 6:19–20 NIV shifted our focus upward—calling us to invest not just in what we can see, but in what will last beyond this life.

And as we stepped toward a new month, we were reminded that faith doesn’t just endure—it nurtures. It tends, it covers, it grows what God has planted.

This week wasn’t about doing more.

It was about building differently—
with intention, contentment, and eternity in mind.

Last Month: A Journey of Faithful Stewardship

April invited us into something deeper:
a life shaped by faithful stewardship.

Not just in what we give—
but in how we live.

We were reminded that everything we hold is entrusted, not owned.

We walked through surrender, releasing control and recognizing God as the true source.

We learned to trust Him as Provider, even when provision required patience.

We were stretched into generosity, giving not from pressure, but from understanding.

And we were called into wisdom and eternal perspective, realizing that what we do with what we’ve been given carries lasting weight.

Last month wasn’t about perfection.

It was about alignment.

Learning to handle what’s in our hands with care…
because it was first placed there by God.

Closing April: Releasing What We’ve Learned

As April closed, we don’t just move on—we carry forward.

We release:

  • the pressure to control
  • the urge to rush
  • the mindset of ownership

And we hold onto:

  • trust in God’s provision
  • contentment in what He’s given
  • wisdom in how we steward it
  • and a renewed focus on what truly lasts

A Gentle Step Into May

And now… we step forward.

Not hurried.
Not striving.
But prepared.

Because stewardship doesn’t end here—it becomes the foundation for what comes next.

What we’ve learned in surrender…
we will carry into growth.

What we’ve learned in trust…
we will carry into deeper faith.

May is not a restart.

It’s a continuation—
of a life being built, shaped, and sustained by God.

Selah Reflection

What is one thing God has shifted in your perspective from April—and how will you carry it forward?

Closing Prayer

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for walking with us through this week and the entire month of April. Thank You for teaching us what it means to live as faithful stewards of all You have entrusted to us. Help us to carry these lessons forward—not as ideas, but as a way of life. Guide us as we step into a new month, rooted in trust, shaped by wisdom, and focused on what is eternal. Continue to lead us, grow us, and align us with Your will in all things.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Leona
