Looking Ahead This Week – Surrendering What We Carry: Trust, Release, and Rest in God’s Hands

There are seasons when faith asks us to stop gripping so tightly to what we were never meant to carry alone. This week at The Witness Journal, we will reflect on surrendering what weighs heavily on the heart — fears, promises, grief, unanswered prayers, expectations, and even the people we love most — and learning to trust God with what we release.

Through the stories of Jochebed, Hannah, the Shunammite woman, and Elizabeth, we will see different expressions of surrender: releasing a child into uncertain waters, praying beyond human possibility, holding faith in painful moments, and waiting through long seasons without losing hope. Together, these reflections point us toward a deeper truth: surrender is not weakness. It is trust. And often, surrender becomes the doorway to relief.

This week is an invitation to lay down what has become too heavy to carry alone and remember that God does not ask us to release things because He is careless with them — He asks because His hands are steadier than ours.
