Saturday Selah: Walking in Renewal — A Week of Becoming
There is something sacred about pausing at the end of a week.
Not to rush ahead.
Not to evaluate performance.
But to notice.
This week at The Witness Journal, we walked slowly through what renewal truly means—not as self-improvement, not as striving harder, but as God’s transforming work within us.
On Monday, we began with Transformed from the Inside Out (2 Corinthians 3:18). We were reminded that transformation is not behavior modification. It is the Spirit of God reshaping us as we behold Him.
On Tuesday, in Strengthened with Power Within (Ephesians 3:16), we reflected on the quiet strengthening that happens in our inner being. Not loud. Not dramatic. But steady.
On Wednesday, The Power That Brings New Life (Romans 8:11) showed us that the same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead is alive in us. Renewal is resurrection power—often subtle, but undeniably real.
On Thursday, God Finishes What He Begins (Philippians 1:6) reminded us that our growth is not dependent on our perfection. God is faithful to complete the work He started.
And on Friday, Becoming New in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17) anchored us in identity. Renewal is not about trying to become someone else. It is about living from who we already are in Him.
Taken together, this week was not about doing more.
It was about allowing more.
Allowing God to transform.
Allowing Him to strengthen.
Allowing Him to bring life.
Allowing Him to finish what He started.
Renewal is not rushed. It unfolds.
A Moment of Stillness
Find a quiet space. Take a slow breath.
Ask yourself:
- Where have I noticed even the smallest internal shift this week?
- What feels lighter than it did before?
- Where am I trying to force growth instead of allowing God to form it?
Sit with those questions. No pressure to produce an answer quickly. Just notice.
Sometimes renewal is simply the awareness that God is already at work.
Journaling Prompt
Write this sentence at the top of your page:
“God is renewing me by…”
Let the rest flow without overthinking. It may be one line. It may be a page. There is no right length—only honesty.
Closing Prayer
Father,
Thank You for the quiet ways You renew us. Thank You that transformation is Your work, not ours to manufacture. Strengthen what You are building within us. Help us trust Your timing, Your process, and Your faithfulness to complete what You began. Teach us to walk in renewal without striving, and to rest in the identity You have already given us in Christ.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Leona
