Looking Ahead at The Witness Journal: From Legacy to Liberty

One chapter is coming to a close, and another is about to begin.

Throughout June, we have reflected on the legacy of our Heavenly Father—the ways His faithfulness shapes our lives, influences generations, and leaves an inheritance that reaches far beyond ourselves. We have seen that true legacy is never measured by possessions or accomplishments, but by lives surrendered to God and transformed by His presence.

As June comes to an end, we pause for two final reminders.

Monday, June 29 — The Blessing That Stays

Then, as the calendar turns to July, we begin a brand-new journey together.

July Theme: Freedom That Endures

Living Fully in Christ

Freedom is one of the most cherished words in our culture. We long to be free from burdens, expectations, fear, regret, and everything that weighs heavily upon our hearts.

Yet Scripture reveals a different picture.

True freedom is not found in independence from God. It is found in complete dependence upon Jesus Christ.

Our anchor verse for the month comes from John 8:36 NIV:

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”

Throughout July we will discover the freedom Christ has already secured for us—the freedom to leave behind guilt, shame, fear, striving, and old identities. Together we will learn that lasting freedom is not merely the absence of chains, but the presence of God transforming every part of our lives.

We begin this journey by laying its biblical foundation.

A life faithfully lived becomes a lasting legacy. And a life surrendered to Christ becomes truly free.

May this week encourage us to both leave behind a legacy of faithfulness and step confidently into the freedom that only Jesus can give.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for every lesson You have taught us throughout this past month. Thank You for showing us that faithfulness leaves a legacy that reaches beyond our own lives. As we begin this new month, open our hearts to experience the freedom Your Son purchased for us. Help us release every burden You never intended us to carry and teach us to live fully in the grace, peace, and liberty found in Christ alone. May our lives continue to honor You, reflect Your love, and invite others to know the freedom that can only be found in You.
