Looking Ahead at The Witness Journal: Freedom Expressed Through Love
Throughout July, we have been exploring what it means to live in the freedom Christ gives us.
We have talked about freedom from the things that once bound us. We have considered the freedom to become who God created us to be. We have learned that walking freely with Christ means surrendering our striving, trusting His direction, following the Holy Spirit, and depending on God daily.
But freedom was never meant to stop with us.
As we enter the final week of our Freedom That Endures—Living Fully in Christ journey, we turn our attention outward.
The freedom Christ gives us changes the way we love.
When we are no longer consumed with proving ourselves, protecting ourselves, or constantly fighting to secure our own place, we become free to notice someone else. We become free to serve without needing recognition, give without keeping score, love without pretending, and allow what God has poured into us to flow into the lives of others.
This is not love expressed only through words.
It is love with hands and feet.
It is love that serves.
Love that sacrifices.
Love that gives.
Love that shows up.
And perhaps one of the clearest signs that Christ has truly set us free is that we are increasingly able to love others from the abundance of what we have already received from Him.

This Week
As we move through these final days of July, let us pay attention to where God gives us opportunities to put freedom into practice.
Who can we serve?
Whose needs can we notice?
What has God placed within us that could bless another person?
Where can our love become more than words?
Freedom that endures does not simply change how we feel about our own lives.
It changes how we enter the lives of others.
And this week, we will discover that one of the most beautiful expressions of a life made free by Christ is a life that is finally free enough to love.
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the freedom You have given us through Jesus Christ. As we enter this final week of our journey, teach us to see freedom not only as something we receive, but as something that transforms the way we live. Make us people who serve willingly, give generously, notice others, and love sincerely. Show us how to use what You have placed in our hands for Your glory and for the good of those around us. May the freedom You are developing within us become visible through the love we extend to others. And as we close this month, help us recognize how far You have brought us and continue walking confidently in the freedom only You can give.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Leona
