Saturday Selah: Abiding in the Love That Holds Us

This month, we didn’t rush.

We lingered.

We moved slowly through the layers of God’s love — not as a concept, not as a sermon, not as something to memorize — but as something to experience.

We began by knowing His love personally.
Not secondhand. Not inherited. Not assumed.
But tasted. (Psalm 34:8 NIV)

We leaned into trusting His heart.
Even when life felt uncertain. Even when answers were delayed.
(Proverbs 3:5–6 NIV)

We allowed His love to compel us.
To soften us.
To reshape how we respond.
(2 Corinthians 5:14 NIV)

And this week…
We learned to abide.

To remain.

To stay.

“Remain in my love.” (John 15:9 NIV)

Not strive in it.
Not perform for it.
Not earn it.

Remain.

What Have You Noticed?

Selah is not about doing more.
It is about noticing.

• Where did you feel God closer this month?
• Where did you resist His love?
• Where did you finally exhale?

Intimacy with God is not dramatic.
It is steady.

It is waking up and choosing to turn your face toward Him again.
It is whispering, “I’m still here.”
And discovering He never moved.

The Thread That Ran Through It All

From Psalm 63:1 NIV — “You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you…”
To Romans 8:38–39 NIV — nothing can separate us.

The thread has been this:

You are wanted.
You are pursued.
You are held.

Not because you performed well this month.
Not because you prayed perfectly.
Not because you felt spiritually strong.

But because He loves you.

And intimacy is not about intensity.

It is about closeness.

That is intimacy.
