Looking Ahead to the Week at The Witness Journal
Deepening: Moving from Knowing to Trusting
Last week, we focused on knowing God’s love personally — longing for Him, receiving His love internally, resting in His delight, living in love, and tasting His goodness for ourselves.
But intimacy doesn’t stop at awareness.
Knowing love is the beginning.
Trusting that love is where depth begins.
This week, we move from simply recognizing that God loves us… to entrusting ourselves to Him because He loves us.
There is a difference.
You can know someone loves you and still hold back.
You can believe someone is good and still guard your heart.
But deepening intimacy requires surrender.
When we trust God’s heart, we release control. We loosen our grip. We stop striving to manage outcomes and begin resting in His wisdom.
Here’s where we’re headed this week:
Monday
📖 Proverbs 3:5–6 (NIV)
Theme: Trusting Beyond Understanding
Tuesday
📖 Isaiah 26:3 (NIV)
Theme: Perfect Peace in a Steady Mind
Wednesday
📖 Psalm 37:5 (NIV)
Theme: Committing the Way Forward
Thursday
📖 Lamentations 3:31–33 (NIV)
Theme: Trusting God’s Heart in Hard Seasons
Friday
📖 Nahum 1:7 (NIV)
Theme: A Refuge in Times of Trouble
This week is about moving deeper.
From:
- Awareness → Assurance
- Knowing → Entrusting
- Belief → Rest
Trust is not passive.
It is an active decision to believe that God’s heart toward us is consistently good — even when circumstances are unclear.
If last week opened our eyes to His love, this week opens our hands.
Let’s lean in.
